Amy Penne earned her PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is Professor of English in the Department of Humanities at Parkland College, just across town in Champaign, Illinois. She lives in a small town thirty miles south of Champaign, a town she affectionately refers to as Outlet Mall Town. Amy’s two talented sons keep her grounded and busy. Amy is a writer and teacher, scholar and contemplative, as well as a certified spiritual director. She is currently earning a second master's degree--this one in Theology. She buys way too many books and literary magazines and is running out of room in her hundred-year old house. Amy's current addictions include: Shakespeare, more Bluprint courses (because I will learn a hundred crafts before I'll actually get around to doing them), and Malcolm Gladwell's podcast, Revisionist History.
